Now for the "thou shalt not blog about work" disclaimer, for any colleagues who have wandered here. I work in the field of gender issues, and I'm really lucky that this is something I'm both professionally and personally passionate about. That being said, my ramblings and opinions on this topic or any others here are in no way an official representation of the organization for which I work full time.
Now for the fun stuff.
Here's what I like: Sleeping with the shades up and windows open year-round, my neighborhood, my family, TV on DVD, my roommates, visiting my long-distance friends, Scrabble, crossword puzzles, Salisbury Beach, beach pizza, Sierra Nevada, cooking, running, the steam room, SPF 45, cargo pants, dogs, game night, and learning simple things that enhance my quality of life. Recently, some of those simple things include: How to perfectly poach eggs, how to slice an avocado in order to save half for later, how to relax my breathing while running, how to fold an origami paper crane, how to play a smooth jazz beat with hand claps and finger snaps, how to properly score Boggle...
Here's what I don't like: Waking up 3 minutes before my alarm, mixing up the counter sponge with the dish sponge, when you're playing a game with someone and they're losing so they just give up and stop trying, and when you're out dancing and the DJ will play every request but yours.
These items are among the usual suspects, like hypocrisy, passive aggression, and the word "moist."
